Abu Dhabi Areas FAQ
Still have a question? Talk to a property consultant.
Get in TouchWhich Abu Dhabi areas allow foreign freehold ownership?
Foreign nationals can own freehold in Abu Dhabi’s designated investment zones, including Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, Al Reem Island, Al Maryah Island and Al Raha Beach.
What is the difference between freehold and leasehold here?
In investment zones foreigners can hold full freehold title. Outside those zones, foreign ownership is generally through long-term leasehold or usufruct rights (commonly up to 99 years).
Are both ready and off-plan homes available across communities?
Yes. Most Abu Dhabi communities offer a mix of ready (move-in) homes and off-plan launches with payment plans. Availability changes as projects complete and new phases release.
